Setup Guide for Salesforce Admins
Taskfeed Setup Guide
Welcome to Taskfeed!
This guide will help you install and set up Taskfeed in your Salesforce Org.
We are native to Salesforce and Lightning Ready
Taskfeed is 100% native to the Salesforce Platform and every feature is supported in Lightning Experience. Taskfeed works the same way in both Salesforce Classic and Lightning.
💡Who Does What in Taskfeed?
Different people may have different responsibilities and permissions in Taskfeed. We frequently refer to the following roles throughout our guides:
Salesforce Administrators configure and set up Taskfeed in your Salesforce organization. As a rule of thumb, if it's in the Setup, it's a job for the Salesforce Admin.
Taskfeed Admin Users are Super Users but not necessarily Salesforce Administrators. They have access to all Taskfeed objects and permission to manage the Taskfeed Templates other team members will use.
Taskfeed Standard Users also known as end-users, they use Taskfeed as part of their work. Standard Users can create and edit Tasks, Boards, assign people to tasks, use Templates, but do not have permission to create or manage the template structure.

To install packages: | Download AppExchange Packages |
Install Taskfeed in a Sandbox or Production environment. We recommend installing any AppExchange package in a Sandbox first.
Once Taskfeed is installed, you must grant the relevant Salesforce users access to Taskfeed:
First, assign a Taskfeed License to anyone who needs to have access to Taskfeed;
Additionally, those users also require a Taskfeed Permission Set in order to see and work with Taskfeed objects in Salesforce.
Learn the different types of License and Permission Sets available with Taskfeed.
Configuring Taskfeed:
Follow our Setup & Configuration instructions to continue setting up the basics of Taskfeed.
Taskfeed is already related to Salesforce Accounts and Opportunities via a Lookup Relationship.
To view a list of Account and Opportunity-related Boards and Tasks:- Add Taskfeed Related Lists to Account and Opportunity Page Layouts.
- Manage Boards from Account and Opportunity records in Lightning or in Classic.
- Here's how to Embed the Taskfeed Visualforce Page in Account or Opportunity page layouts.
External Sharing
Configure External Sharing. This is one of our most sought-after features and allows Taskfeed users to seamlessly share a Taskfeed Board with anyone outside of Salesforce, giving viewers a real-time, read-only perspective of the project.
To use this feature, configure External Sharing for your Org first.
Once enabled, Taskfeed users can share boards that contain a public link and also use the Calendar Sync feature to view their tasks in external calendar applications such as Google Calendar, Apple, Outlook, etc.
Customizing Taskfeed:
Taskfeed is the ideal solution for Customer Onboarding and also highly customizable. You can relate Taskfeed to other Standard and custom objects, create custom fields, colour-coded categories, labels, and even assign people to tasks automatically. You can customize Taskfeed the same way you customize Taskfeed to suit your business requirements.
Visit the Setup & Configuration, Customizing Taskfeed, and Process Automation sections to find use cases and guides to help you customize Taskfeed to your business requirements.
