Important: As of the Winter ‘18 Release, Taskfeed updates will be automatic by default, with the option for you to opt-out of automated updates.
At Taskfeed we are continually improving our product through feature enhancement, performance improvement and optimization as well as resolving issues that crop up from time to time. This article explains the process for how you get these innovations and improvements through upgrading Taskfeed.
Ways to keep up to date
When we release a new version you have two options:
Auto-upgrade: We will “push” new versions to your Salesforce instance when they are ready. We recommended this method as it means you are always running the latest and greatest version.You receive new functionality sooner, and we can fix issues quicker.
Manual upgrade: You can opt-out of the auto-upgrade and instead upgrade manually from the AppExchange, on your own time. Manually upgrading Taskfeed can be advantageous for larger organizations with a mission-critical and heavily customized instance of Salesforce where they have an internal governance process for change management within Salesforce. Note: Before Taskfeed Winter ‘18 release (November 2017), all customers had to update the product manually. For many, this was time-consuming, and most of us expect to be using the most up-to-date version of a product. As of our Winter ‘18 Release, Taskfeed will be updated automatically by default from now on, with the option for you to opt-out of automated updates. This will enable you to receive upgrades automatically for the first time.
To Opt-Out of Automatic Updates:
- Go to Setup > Installed Packages and find Taskfeed.
- Click Configure.
- In the first tab, select the checkbox for Automatic Update Opt-Out.
